Are you an experienced Fortinet Network Security Engineer looking to join a rapidly growing consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and security projects? This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly experienced engineers, leading the design, implementation and support of enterprise-grade Fortinet environments for a diverse client base, including secure and highly regulated organisations. As a Fortinet Network Security Engineer, you'll work on a mixture of remote and customer-site projects, taking ownership of solutions from design through to delivery while influencing technical decisions and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Design, deploy, configure and support FortiGate Firewalls across complex customer environments.
\n
• Implement and maintain Firewall policies, security profiles, VPNs (IPSec and SSL), SD-WAN and High Availability (HA) solutions.
\n
• Manage and support the wider Fortinet ecosystem, including FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiClient EMS and FortiSwitch/FortiAP where required.
\n
• Perform Firewall reviews, optimisation and security hardening following best practice.
\n
• Monitor security events, investigate incidents and support root cause analysis.
\n
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and change records.
\n
• Support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and GDPR.
\n
• Lead technical delivery on customer sites and provide guidance throughout project life cycles.
\n
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to improve network resilience, security and performance.
\n
• Support firmware life cycle management, patching and vulnerability remediation.
\n

Key Requirements:

\n
• Proven experience as a Fortinet Network Security Engineer or similar network security position.
\n
• Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate Firewalls and FortiAnalyzer in production environments.
\n
• Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, NAT, IDS/IPS and network security principles.
\n
• Experience deploying SD-WAN and managing multi-site network environments.
\n
• Ability to design and deliver network infrastructure projects from start to finish.
\n
• Strong troubleshooting skills across both network and security technologies.
\n
• Experience with physical infrastructure as well as cloud networking.
\n
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune and MDM technologies would be beneficial.
\n
• Experience with Proxmox, Azure or AWS would be advantageous.
\n
• Previous experience within an MSP or multi-client environment is desirable.
\n
• Current SC clearance or SC Clearance eligibility.
\n
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK as required.
\n
