VIQU have partnered with an NHS organisation who are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to support a busy security team during a period of increased demand.

The successful Cyber Security Analyst will focus on monitoring and investigating security alerts, responding to incidents, supporting vulnerability management activities, and helping maintain a secure Microsoft-based environment, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Sentinel.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents within Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Manage cyber security tickets, service requests and day-to-day operational security activities.
  • Analyse suspicious activity and escalate potential threats where appropriate.
  • Support vulnerability management and remediation activities across the organisation.
  • Assist with incident response, security investigations and cyber improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with end users to provide security advice and support.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience working as a Cyber Security Analyst.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Sentinel for alert monitoring, investigation and incident management.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft 365 security controls.
  • Experience investigating cyber incidents such as phishing attacks, malware, account compromise and suspicious user activity.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of core security principles including threat detection, risk management and incident response.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role Details:

  • Contract: 2 months initial contract (with potential for extension)
  • Location: Hybrid - Cardiff
  • Rate: £240 per day
  • Inside IR35
