VIQU has partnered with a public sector organisation to find a proactive and skilled Business Systems Support Specialist to join their team in Widnes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting business-critical systems and eager to make a real impact within a values-driven organisation that genuinely invests in its people. The role offers hybrid working, with the majority of time spent working remotely.
Who You'll Be Supporting & About the Role
You’ll work closely with the Business Systems Manager, helping to maintain and improve Operational and People Services business systems. From day-to-day issue resolution to assisting with system upgrades and user support, you’ll play a vital role in keeping key platforms such as HR, Payroll, and Finance running smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage business systems incidents, queries, and requests via Service Desk and email
- Resolve assigned issues, escalate where needed, and communicate effectively with users
- Conduct routine system housekeeping tasks and checks
- Carry out system administration, including:
- User account creation and deactivation
- Managing access and permissions based on role changes
- Workflow monitoring and clearance
- Running consistency checks and access control reviews
- Assisting with technical and administrative tasks
- Supporting users during rollouts
- Participating in system testing and implementation
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in a business-systems support role
- Strong understanding of business systems (eg, HR, Payroll)
- Experience with Agresso (Unit4 ERP/Business World) is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Desirable:
- Degree or advanced apprenticeship in IT, Business, or a related field
- Experience with IT systems implementation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL
