VIQU is working with a leading engineering organisation delivering high-voltage infrastructure and electrical design solutions across the energy sector. They are seeking an experienced HV Design Integration Lead to play a key role in coordinating and assuring the delivery of HV electrical design projects while supporting the growth of an in-house engineering capability.

Key Responsibilities of the HV Design Integration Lead role:

  • Lead and coordinate HV electrical design activities across substation and infrastructure projects
  • Manage interfaces between Primary, Protection & Control and secondary electrical disciplines
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontract designers and external consultants to ensure integrated delivery
  • Support technical assurance, design reviews and sign-off activities in line with NERS and industry standards
  • Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks across projects
  • Act as a key technical interface with clients, DNOs, Tier 1 contractors and stakeholders
  • Support bids, tenders and early-stage project delivery strategies
  • Contribute to the development of internal electrical design capability and mentor future team members

Key Requirements of the HV Design Integration Lead role:

  • Significant experience within HV electrical design, particularly substations and related infrastructure
  • Background in either Primary Design or Protection & Control (P&C) leadership
  • Experience working with DNOs, Tier 1 contractors or engineering consultancies
  • Knowledge of NERS standards and regulated engineering environments
  • Experience reviewing and approving electrical engineering outputs
  • Strong stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng/IEng) preferred or equivalent experience
