VIQU have partnered with a growing UK-based engineering organisation investing heavily in its technical capability. Operating within a regulated, safety-critical environment, the business delivers complex engineered systems where quality, robustness and validation are critical. This is a newly created role, introduced to provide dedicated leadership to an established Test & Validation function.
The Role
As Test & Validation Team Lead, you’ll lead a team of six engineers, working in a 50/50 split between hands-on testing and people leadership. The focus is on system-level and whole-product testing, validation and fault finding, rather than upfront design. You’ll take ownership of validation planning, oversee internal and external testing activity, manage test equipment and ensure issues identified through testing are effectively resolved and fed back into the engineering loop.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of test and validation plans
- Schedule and manage internal, external and certification testing
- Hands-on fault finding, data analysis and root cause investigation
- Ownership of test equipment, calibration and data integrity
- Line management responsibilities including workload planning and 1-2-1s
- Drive continuous improvement across test methods and processes
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading an engineering test or validation team
- Strong background testing complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with instrumentation, DAQ systems and CAN-based data
- End-to-end validation experience (any vehicle or complex system background)
- Pragmatic, proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership
- Engineering degree (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
