Technical Business Analyst (Automation / RPA) - NPPV3 Cleared - Contract - Outside IR35 - Hybrid - Midlands
VIQU have partnered with a well-established public sector organisation in the Midlands who are seeking an experienced
Technical Business Analyst to support the continued growth of their Automation Programme.
This role will focus on identifying, assessing and documenting automation opportunities across the organisation, helping to build a structured pipeline of initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort and support long-term digital transformation.
The successful Technical Business Analyst will work closely with operational stakeholders, facilitating workshops, mapping business processes and producing high-quality documentation that enables RPA and Power Platform developers to successfully deliver automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery activities across multiple business areas to identify suitable automation opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders, SMEs and technical teams.
- Produce detailed AS-IS and TO-BE process maps, documenting business processes, pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop Process Definition Documents, business requirements, business rules and functional specifications for automation initiatives.
- Assess automation suitability based on complexity, business value, operational risk and expected benefits.
- Maintain and prioritise an automation opportunity pipeline, supporting governance and programme decision-making.
- Work closely with developers and solution architects to ensure requirements are clear, complete and development-ready.
- Support UAT, benefits tracking, knowledge transfer and the successful transition of automations into BAU support.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience working as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Analyst or Process Analyst within Automation, RPA or Digital Transformation programmes.
- Strong experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews and business process discovery sessions.
- Demonstrable experience producing AS-IS / TO-BE process maps using recognised methodologies such as BPMN.
- Experience writing high-quality business requirements, functional specifications and Process Definition Documents.
- Good understanding of Automation technologies such as Power Platform, Blue Prism, Ui Path or similar RPA platforms.
- Knowledge of the end-to-end automation lifecycle, including discovery
