As part of a major business demerger, my customer is looking for a talented and adaptable Network Engineer to help shape and support the infrastructure of a recently formed company.
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the new environment is built with resilience, scalability, and security in mind—working across both BAU operations and transformation projects.
The Network Engineer is required to have strong experience with Cisco Meraki and Palo Alto firewalls.
Key responsibilities of the Network Engineer:
- Manage Cisco Meraki solutions and Palo Alto firewalls (including Panorama and PAN-OS).
- Support and maintain day-to-day network operations (BAU) while contributing to project delivery related to the demerger.
- Design, configure, and manage LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across the enterprise.
- Work collaboratively with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure robust, secure, and high-performing network services.
- Interpret and implement low-level designs, configurations, and support procedures.
- Contribute to automation and scripting efforts for improved efficiency and consistency.
- Solid experience working as a Network Engineer across both BAU and project-based work.
- Strong understanding of core networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
- Hands-on experience with:
- LAN, WLAN, and WAN technologies
- Cisco Meraki configuration and support
- Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama, PAN-OS, rule base configuration)
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Desirable / Nice to Have
- Exposure to F5 load balancers and related technologies.
- Strong awareness of network security/Cyber Security practices and tools.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of network tasks.
The Network Engineer is required on average 1 day a week onsite in Warrington.
