About the Role
VIQU is partnering with a global energy trading organisation to recruit a Network & Security Specialist on a permanent basis in London. This is a senior, hands-on role owning network and security operations end to end, ensuring a resilient, secure and highly available enterprise environment. You will act as the technical lead for cyber and network security, protecting systems from threats, responding to incidents and driving continuous improvement across infrastructure and security controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead network and security infrastructure, including strategy, design, implementation and BAU support.
- Monitor, investigate and respond to security events using SIEM and managed detection services.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, web and email security platforms.
- Maintain patching, vulnerability management and remediation across the estate.
- Coordinate third-party penetration testing and remediation of findings based on risk and CVSS.
- Investigate security incidents and support incident response and forensic activities.
- Ensure high availability, resilience and disaster recovery planning across network and security platforms.
- Maintain documentation, security policies and Jira records.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders and mentor IT team members.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior Network & Security Specialist or SME in an enterprise environment.
- Expert knowledge of Check Point firewalls and strong Cisco networking experience, including Cisco ISE.
- Experience with Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA) and SIEM platforms such as Splunk.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management, penetration testing and incident response.
- Experience supporting data centre or colocation environments and managing vendors and carriers.
- PowerShell or scripting experience to support automation.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
