VIQU are partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. This is a hands-on, senior Microsoft infrastructure role with a strong project delivery focus. You will lead projects that improve and scale the core Azure and Microsoft 365 estate, automate processes, and resolve root-cause infrastructure issues, rather than just reacting to tickets.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer:
- Lead infrastructure projects including Azure migrations, Intune deployments, GPO rationalisation, and cloud networking.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, repeatable infrastructure using PowerShell, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Analyse recurring IT issues and develop long-term solutions to reduce ticket volumes.
- Automate processes such as identity management, onboarding, provisioning, and account management.
- Monitor, optimise, and secure hybrid cloud environments (Azure and on-premises).
- Provide third-line escalation support and act as the technical point of contact for complex infrastructure issues.
- Maintain clear documentation and support colleagues in adopting new infrastructure solutions.
Key Requirements of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer:
- Proven experience in Microsoft cloud and on-premises infrastructure (Azure, M365, Intune, AD).
- Strong PowerShell skills and experience with at least one additional scripting language (e.g., Python).
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Solid understanding of networking in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage projects end-to-end.
- Experience with solution design, deployment, lifecycle management, and automation.
- Microsoft certifications (PL-900, AZ-900, or equivalent) desirable.
