VIQU has been approached by a customer who is seeking an IT Field Engineer contractor to provide additional BAU support across multiple client sites. This is a field-based role, requiring regular travel to various locations to provide onsite IT support, deployments, and break‑fix services. The successful Field Engineer will have solid previous experience in IT Support within a Microsoft environment and will be committed to delivering excellent customer service.

You must be comfortable travelling between sites and have previous experience working in a Field Engineer or mobile IT support role. The role will involve travelling to multiple customer sites to provide onsite IT support, carrying out hardware deployments, installations, break‑fix activities, and resolving 1st line technical issues. You will also manage and escalate support tickets where required and work closely with external clients, so excellent communication skills and a customer‑first approach are essential.

Key skills & responsibilities for the Field Engineer:

  • Previous experience working as a Field Engineer or in a mobile IT support role
  • Strong IT support experience within a Windows / Microsoft environment, including:
    • SharePoint
    • Windows 10/11
    • Office 365
    • Active Directory
    • Azure
  • Experience with IT hardware deployments, rollouts, installations, and device refresh projects
  • Comfortable travelling to multiple customer sites on a daily basis
  • Providing face‑to‑face IT support to end users
  • Diagnosing and resolving desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral issues
  • Triaging support tickets and escalating to relevant teams where necessary
  • Experience using an ITSM/ticketing system
  • Supporting AV equipment, meeting room setups, and conferencing technology
  • Supporting break‑fix issues across end‑user devices
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred) or willingness to travel extensively between customer sites
