VIQU has partnered with a leading organisation specialising in advanced system integration within the nuclear sector to recruit a talented Hardware Engineer . Join a world-class team working on innovative projects in highly regulated environments across energy, water, renewables, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Design hardware systems for control panels using proprietary components, focusing on PLCs, MCCs, Drives & Controls, and Switchgear.
Prepare, review, and verify calculations and design documentation.
Design electrical cabling and containment systems.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Travel occasionally for site surveys and customer support.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Work confidently within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Experience designing electrical panels containing PLCs and LV distribution systems.
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and/or Eplan P8 β Pro-Panel.
Competent with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Degree or HND in a relevant discipline, with project implementation experience.
Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
Excellent communication skills for client engagement and mentoring.
Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental legislation.
Familiarity with BS7671 IEE latest Edition Wiring Regulations.
Understanding of IEC BS EN 61439-1 standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, utilities, infrastructure).
Knowledge of EMC practices.
Working towards or holding Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
Advanced English communication skills.
