Job Description

Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) – 12-Month Contract – Inside IR35 – Reading – SC Cleared

VIQU have partnered with a leading consultancy who deliver critical projects in energy, water, renewables, and manufacturing, with this Commissioning Engineer role being part of the Nuclear team.

The role:

The successful Commissioning Engineer will commission and test hardwired site safety systems, predominantly for industrial control systems on a Nuclear site. This Commissioning Engineer role requires demonstrable experience in safety control systems and, ideally active SC Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning of site Safety Control Sysems
  • Carry out necessary training to become a Nominated Person Commissioning (NPC)
  • Manage test documentation and reports
  • Support commissioning of other non-security systems

Key skills & experience:

  • Electrical safety knowledge (18th Edition Wiring Regs and ECS Skills Card preferred)
  • Experience in commissioning and construction site environments, ideally within highly-regulated industries
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and block cable diagrams
  • Understanding of quality procedures
  • SC Clearance

Desirable skills:

  • Security Access Control and CCTV Systems
  • Electrical testing or IOSH qualifications
