IT Support Engineer – 12-month contract - Cambridge

My Customer is looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer with strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and Endpoint Management. The successful candidate will be hands-on, customer-focused and confident troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Skills required from the IT Support Engineer:

  • Strong Windows 10/11 support experience.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and SCCM/MECM.
  • Strong endpoint management and software deployment experience.
  • Hardware, desktop and peripheral troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory / Group Policy experience.
  • Experience working within an ITIL/service desk environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time-management skills.
  • Lab IT skills would be benefical

Key Responsibilities of the IT Support Engineer:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Windows, hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Support and manage endpoints using Microsoft Intune and SCCM/MECM.
  • Install, configure and maintain operating systems and software applications.
  • Manage patching, software updates and device lifecycle management.
  • Support hardware refreshes, new device deployments and equipment moves/adds/changes.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and work with Networking, Security and other IT teams where required.
  • Manage incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Assist with asset management, inventory and CMDB accuracy.
  • Support wider IT projects and technology initiatives.
  • Work closely with users, IT teams, vendors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

The IT Support Engineer is required to be onsite, 5 days a week in Cambridge.
