Overview
VIQU have partnered with a logistics organisation based in Birmingham who are seeking an experienced Interim CTO to support a defined, short-term requirement at a critical decision point. The initial engagement will focus on providing independent technical input during an active RFP and vendor evaluation process, helping the business sense-check proposals and understand what is genuinely required before committing to next steps. While the immediate scope is short term, there may be scope to extend the engagement depending on outcomes and wider programme needs. The Interim CTO will work closely with the Head of IT, senior stakeholders, and owners to provide clarity, challenge, and direction.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input and challenge during the RFP and vendor evaluation process.
- Review current IT capability, structure, and delivery approach at a high level.
- Act as a technical sounding board for senior leadership and owners.
- Validate proposed solutions against business needs rather than technology trends.
- Provide clear, pragmatic recommendations to inform next steps.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience operating at CTO / IT Director / Head of Technology level.
- Strong technical background with the ability to engage both strategically and practically.
- Experience working within small-to-mid-sized or evolving organisations.
- Confidence reviewing and challenging third-party vendor proposals.

- Rate: £700 – £900 per day
