My Customer is looking for a Platform / Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of a hybrid technology estate spanning cloud and on-premise environments. This role combines hands-on operational support with technical leadership, driving platform improvements, modernisation initiatives, and ensuring a secure, stable, and scalable infrastructure.

Key Skills:

  • Hybrid Platform Operations: Proven experience managing and supporting production environments across both cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Cloud Platforms & Services: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP). Exposure to decommissioning landing Zones.
  • On-Premise Infrastructure: Strong background in Windows Server environments and core services such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Operational Support & Incident Management
  • Governance & Cost Management - Azure: Understanding of governance frameworks, cost optimisation strategies, and usage monitoring across cloud and hybrid platforms. Experience with Infrastructure as code would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Drive cloud modernisation, including migration from legacy Azure environments.
  • Administer and optimise cloud platforms (accounts, networking, identity, security, services).
  • Support on-prem infrastructure, including Windows Server, core services, virtualisation, and connectivity.
  • Act as an escalation point for incidents, leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Apply security best practices using automation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Implement and improve governance, cost control, and compliance standards.
  • Promote best practices in monitoring, backup, resilience, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with architecture and security teams to align with organisational standards.
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and platform standards.
  • Resolve complex hybrid infrastructure and connectivity issues with cross-team support.
