My Customer is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a critical on-premise infrastructure environment. This role is well suited to someone with strong VMware, Backup and Storage expertise who is comfortable working across core platform technologies in a production environment. The role will be to manage the BAU requirements that arise as well as supporting projects and initiatives from a Backend Infrastructure perspective.

Required Experience from the Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting and administering Windows Server (2016–2022)
  • Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere / ESXi in enterprise environments
  • Experience with storage zoning (SAN / Dell Power Store)
  • Proven experience working with backup tooling and recovery processes (Dell PPDM)
  • Comfortable supporting on-prem infrastructure in a BAU and change-driven environment

Key Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Support, administer and maintain Windows Server environments up to Server 2022
  • Manage and optimise VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi hosts
  • Work with storage zoning and ensure correct configuration and connectivity (SAN / Dell Power Store)
  • Administer and monitor backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and recoverability (Dell PPDM)
  • Perform day-to-day infrastructure support, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements, upgrades and best-practice initiatives
  • Provide 3rd line support and technical escalation where required

The Infrastructure Engineer is required to be onsite, 2 days a week in Northampton.
