IT Support Engineer – 8-month contract – Fareham
My Client is looking for a looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join a IT team, providing high-quality 2nd Line support across a modern Microsoft environment.
The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for resolving technical issues, supporting business-critical applications, and helping maintain a reliable and secure IT infrastructure.
Any previous experience supporting Microsoft 365 migration projects would be a distinct advantage.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience providing 2nd Line IT Support in a Microsoft environment.
Strong Microsoft 365 administration and support experience.
Solid knowledge of Active Directory user and group management.
Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
Good understanding of the Microsoft End User Computing (EUC) stack.
Experience supporting business applications, including troubleshooting and user support.
Knowledge of application patching and server-based application maintenance.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 2nd Line technical support to end users, resolving incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
Administer and support Microsoft 365, including user management, licensing, and troubleshooting.
Manage Active Directory user accounts, including joiners, movers, leavers, group permissions, and password resets.
Support and administer Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktop environments.
Deliver application support for both third-party and internally developed business applications.
Deploy and patch applications on Windows servers, ensuring systems remain secure and up to date.
Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
The IT Support Engineer is required onsite in Fareham, at least 4 days a week.
