Information Governance Assurance Officer - NHS – 6 Month Contract – Norfolk VIQU have partnered with an NHS client who are seeking an Information Governance Assurance Officer to strengthen its Information Governance and Data Protection function.

The successful Information Governance Assurance Officer role will focus on DSPT compliance, information risk management, DPIAs, data breach investigations, governance reporting, and ensuring adherence to NHS and UK data protection legislation.

Role Responsibilities Deliver Information Governance assurance activities to support compliance with DSPT, GDPR, Data Protection legislation, and NHS governance standards.

Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and provide expert guidance on privacy and information risk across projects and systems.

Manage Information Governance audits, compliance reviews, confidentiality audits, and governance assurance programmes.

Investigate information governance incidents, data breaches, complaints, and data subject rights requests, ensuring timely resolution.

Produce and present governance, compliance, risk, and performance reports for senior stakeholders and governance committees.

Support the development of IG policies, data sharing agreements, information asset registers, and governance frameworks.

Key Skills & Experience Required Proven Information Governance, Data Protection, or Compliance experience within an NHS or highly regulated environment.

Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection legislation, Caldicott principles, and NHS Information Governance standards.

Experience delivering and evidencing compliance against the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).

Ability to analyse complex governance data, identify risks, and produce senior-level reports and recommendations.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills, with experience managing governance metrics and compliance reporting.

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across clinical, operational, and digital teams.
