VIQU have partnered with an NHS organisation who are looking for a DevOps Manager to take ownership of an Azure-based DevOps and platform function, combining hands-on technical leadership with line management responsibility for a small DevOps and test team.

The successful DevOps Manager will play a key role in maturing DevOps practices, improving CI/CD, automation, monitoring and platform reliability, while leading and setting clear expectations for the team across DevOps and test disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and line manage a small multi-disciplinary DevOps and test team, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching and mentoring
  • Set delivery standards, priorities and ways of working, supporting team performance and continuous improvement
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across DevOps, Azure cloud and platform engineering where required
  • Design, improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), embedding test automation and quality gates
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) and repeatable, automated environment management
  • Own platform monitoring, alerting and incident response, ensuring services are resilient, observable and reliable
  • Improve Power Platform (Power Apps) ALM, deployment patterns and environment strategies
  • Establish and maintain DevOps and platform processes, documentation and operational best practice

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience working as a DevOps Manager with line management responsibility
  • Strong experience leading and supporting small technical teams
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture, security, monitoring and optimisation
  • Proven experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • Experience working closely with test teams and embedding quality into delivery
  • Comfortable balancing people leadership with hands-on technical oversight

Contract Overview:

  • Role: DevOps Manager
  • Duration: Contract runs till end of March 2027
  • IR35: Inside IR35
  • Rate: Β£325 per day
  • Location: Hybrid / Cardiff
