3rd Line Engineer – Mobile Device Management (MDM)

Salary: £50,000 – £52,000 Location: Hatfield (on-site) Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Clearance: Security Cleared or willing to undergo vetting
We\’re seeking a 3rd Line Engineer with deep expertise in mobile device management (MDM) to support a major managed service customer. You\’ll play a senior role in delivering secure, large-scale mobile environments, ensuring devices are configured, compliant, and optimised using modern endpoint technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end enrolment, configuration, and in-life support of mobile devices (iOS & Android)
Manage OS updates, device policies, and escalated incidents from 2nd line teams
Work with tools such as Workspace ONE, JAMF, Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise Manager, Samsung KNOX
Oversee certificate creation/management and device onboarding/offboarding
Liaise with internal technical teams, 3rd parties, and customer stakeholders to ensure aligned delivery
Ensure environments are secure, standardised, and compliant with enterprise requirements
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a 3rd line support or senior mobile endpoint engineering role
Strong expertise in Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Manager managing large estates
Hands-on experience with:
Apple Business Manager
JAMF
ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access)
Entra ID & M365
Android Enterprise Manager
Samsung KNOX
Certificate creation and management
Policy and smart group management in enterprise environments
Solid knowledge of iOS & Android OS installation, configuration, and lifecycle management
Skilled in incident queue management, SLA delivery, and stakeholder engagement
