Mainframe Developer Pontefract – Hybrid £42,000 – £55,000 VIQU are partnering with a leading UK organisation to recruit a Mainframe Developer to support highly automated warehouse and distribution operations.
You'll develop and maintain mission-critical mainframe applications across the full development lifecycle, working closely with technical teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities of the
Mainframe
Developer
- Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL or IBM DB2
- Deliver development work from requirements through to testing and deployment
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on projects and improvements
- Support and troubleshoot existing mainframe applications
- Provide user support and participate in out-of-hours cover
- Contribute to continuous improvement across development processes Key Experience Required of the

Developer
- Strong commercial experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL or IBM DB2
- Proven experience delivering mainframe solutions in a production environment
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience providing application support in critical environments
