We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented 2nd Line Support Engineer to support and maintain server infrastructure across both on-premise and cloud environments. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid foundational experience who is looking to deepen their skills across infrastructure, backend systems, and some frontend/server-facing technologies.

You will work closely with senior engineers to support, monitor, and maintain systems, assist with upgrades, and ensure platform stability within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd line support for physical and virtual server environments
  • Monitor system performance, investigate issues, and carry out troubleshooting across backend infrastructure
  • Support and maintain Windows Server platforms (basic Linux exposure beneficial)
  • Assist with server upgrades, patching, and migration activities (Windows & SQL Server)
  • Support core services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Work with monitoring tools to ensure system availability and performance
  • Assist in maintaining security standards and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and other teams on infrastructure improvements
  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
Key Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a 2nd Line Support or similar infrastructure support role
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Experience troubleshooting server, application, or infrastructure issues
  • Aware of backend systems and how they interact with frontend services
  • Exposure to SQL Server (support, basic queries, or maintenance tasks)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and alerting systems
  • Understanding of security and compliance in regulated environments (desirable)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS (beneficial but not essential)
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or similar) is a plus
