Fortinet Network Security Engineer Permanent Remote / UK Travel Are you an experienced Fortinet Network Security Engineer looking to join a rapidly growing consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and security projects?
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly experienced engineers, leading the design, implementation and support of enterprise-grade Fortinet environments for a diverse client base, including secure and highly regulated organisations.
As a Fortinet Network Security Engineer, you'll work on a mixture of remote and customer-site projects, taking ownership of solutions from design through to delivery while influencing technical decisions and supporting continuous improvement.
Key
Responsibilities: Design, deploy, configure and support Forti Gate firewalls across complex customer environments.
Implement and maintain firewall policies, security profiles, VPNs (IPSec and SSL), SD-WAN and High Availability (HA) solutions.
Manage and support the wider Fortinet ecosystem, including Forti Analyzer, Forti Manager, Forti Client EMS and Forti Switch/Forti AP where required.
Perform firewall reviews, optimisation and security hardening following best practice.
Monitor security events, investigate incidents and support root cause analysis.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and change records.
Support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and GDPR.
Lead technical delivery on customer sites and provide guidance throughout project lifecycles.
Collaborate with internal teams and customers to improve network resilience, security and performance.
Support firmware lifecycle management, patching and vulnerability remediation.
Key
Requirements: Proven experience as a Fortinet Network Security Engineer or similar network security position.
Strong hands-on experience with Forti Gate firewalls and Forti Analyzer in production environments.
Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, NAT, IDS/IPS and network security principles.
Experience deploying SD-WAN and managing multi-site network environments.
Ability to design and deliver network infrastructure projects from start to finish.
Strong troubleshooting skills across both network and security technologies.
Experience with physical infrastructure as well as cloud networking.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune and MDM technologies would be beneficial.
Experience with Proxmox, Azure or AWS would be advantageous.
Previous experience within an MSP or multi-client environment is desirable.
Current SC clearance or SC Clearance eligibility.
Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK as required.
