VIQU have partnered with an engineering organisation seeking an Electrical Systems / EDS Engineer to support the development and integration of a next-generation electric vehicle platform. The successful Electrical Systems / EDS Engineer will be working across electrical distribution systems (EDS), wiring harnesses, electrical schematics and vehicle integration, supporting the design, development and integration of electrical systems across the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop vehicle electrical distribution systems (EDS), wiring harnesses and associated electrical components.
  • Produce and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and system documentation.
  • Support the routing and integration of LV and HV wiring harnesses across vehicle systems.
  • Define electrical components, connectors, interfaces and associated design requirements.
  • Work closely with Systems, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to ensure successful vehicle-level integration.
  • Support testing, commissioning, fault finding and resolution of electrical integration issues.
  • Manage design changes and support engineering release, production and manufacturing activities.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Systems / EDS Engineer, wiring harness or vehicle electrical systems design.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring architectures and electrical design principles.
  • Experience designing and integrating vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical components.
  • Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems, interfaces and CAN Bus communications.
  • Experience with electrical design / CAD tools; Zuken E3, Solid Edge or similar advantageous.
  • Practical experience of testing, diagnostics and electrical fault finding.
  • Experience within automotive, EV, motorsport, off-highway, commercial vehicle or similar electro-mechanical environments.

Contract Overview

  • Role: Electrical Systems / EDS Engineer
  • Length: 6-month initial contract
  • IR35: Inside IR35
  • Rate: Β£50 - Β£55 per hour
  • Location: Warwick
