You’ll be the go-to person bridging the gap between the business and technical teams – leading conversations, shaping ideas into clear requirements, and ensuring the solutions deliver real value. This is a great opportunity to work across both strategy and delivery within a forward-thinking organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Data Consultant:- Act as the link between business stakeholders and technical teams, understanding what the business needs from the new platform and translating that into clear, actionable plans.
- Lead solution design across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with both business goals and technical capability.
- Own the early-stage discovery and definition process – gathering requirements, defining problems, and outlining the best data-led approach.
- Guide and mentor technical teams on best practices, and support delivery with demos, PoCs, and architectural input where needed.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and future-proofed – always with a focus on delivering business value.
- Strong experience engaging with business stakeholders – able to gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and turn needs into solutions.
- Background in solution design and a solid understanding of data platform strategy.
- Proven experience with Databricks (Azure or AWS), SQL, and Python.
- Understanding of cloud technologies (either AWS or Azure).
- Experience in data modelling, pipeline optimisation, and delivering scalable solutions.
- Comfortable working across both technical and non-technical teams – strong communicator and collaborator.
- Knowledge of security standards (e.g., NIST, PCI) and tooling like JIRA is a plus.
- Ideally degree educated in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, with 8+ years in data-focused roles.
