VIQU have partnered with a leading professional services organisation seeking a Senior Microsoft Platform Engineer to join their Core Services and Platforms team. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on owning and evolving enterprise Microsoft platforms across SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure, web, and identity services within a high-availability, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Microsoft Platform Engineer:

  • Provide third-line support for business-critical platform services
  • Own and support SQL Server, SharePoint (on-prem and cloud), IIS/web platforms, Azure services, and identity services including SSO and MFA
  • Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimise platform performance, availability, capacity, and disaster recovery
  • Lead complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution
  • Deliver platform upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure changes in line with change management processes
  • Act as a technical lead, mentoring engineers and supporting both BAU and project delivery
  • Collaborate with application teams, business services, and third-party vendors
  • Participate in an on-call rota supporting core infrastructure services

Key Requirements of the Senior Microsoft Platform Engineer:

  • Proven experience managing enterprise Microsoft platform services
  • Strong hands-on expertise across SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure, IIS/web infrastructure, reporting platforms, and identity management (SSO/MFA)
  • Experience operating at third-line level within complex, global environments
  • Strong understanding of performance tuning, monitoring, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
  • Experience delivering upgrades and deployments within structured change control environments
  • Ability to lead technically, mentor others, and engage effectively with stakeholders
