SMCR Test Analyst
Contract | Inside IR35 | London (Hybrid)
We are looking for an experienced Test Analyst to join the testing team on a major SMCR regulatory change programme for a leading financial services client. This is a contract engagement, Inside IR35, paying Β£340 per day, based in London with a minimum of 50% office attendance.
About the Client
Morela is proud to be supporting a well-established change and transformation consultancy that partners with major financial services organisations on complex regulatory and business change. The consultancy is known for its people-led approach to change, helping clients land new ways of working that genuinely stick rather than simply delivering projects.
This engagement sits within a regulatory change programme focused on the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR), with the consultancy building out a dedicated testing capability to take the programme safely through to go-live and operational readiness.
The Role
As SMCR Test Analyst you will support planning, execution and reporting across SIT, UAT and Operational Proving. You will own test scenarios and scripts, test data, traceability and defect management, and carry out end-to-end process testing across the programme.
You will work closely with business users, SMEs and technology and delivery teams to get the programme ready for go-live. The client is particularly keen on people who bring genuine change management experience and a background in regulatory or complex financial services transformation, rather than project or programme management.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute and report on SIT, UAT and Operational Proving
- Write test plans, scenarios, scripts and cases, and capture clear test evidence
- Carry out end-to-end process and integration testing across multiple systems
- Prepare and manage test data
- Log, prioritise and re-test defects through to resolution
- Maintain requirements traceability and test coverage
- Guide and support business users and SMEs through UAT
- Contribute to go-live and operational readiness
Essential Requirements
- Significant testing experience within complex business change, transformation or regulatory programmes
- Strong hands-on SIT, UAT and Operational Proving experience
- Experience developing test plans, scenarios, scripts, cases and evidence
- End-to-end process and integration testing across multiple systems
- Test data preparation and management
- Defect management, prioritisation and re-testing
- Requirements traceability and test coverage
- Experience supporting business users and SMEs through UAT
- Go-live and operational readiness experience
- Strong testing reporting, governance and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Experience
- Financial services regulatory experience (SMCR exposure a real plus) or other regulatory change experience
- Background in complex financial services transformation
Working Environment
- Contract role, Inside IR35
- Hybrid, with a minimum of 50% attendance at the London office
- Close collaboration with business users, SMEs, technology teams and third-party suppliers
- A regulatory change environment where quality, governance and clear evidence really matter
