IT Support Engineer – 8-month contract – Fareham
My Client is looking for a looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join a IT team, providing high-quality 2nd Line support across a modern Microsoft environment.
The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for resolving technical issues, supporting business-critical applications, and helping maintain a reliable and secure IT infrastructure.
Any previous experience supporting Microsoft 365 migration projects would be a distinct advantage.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience providing 2nd Line IT Support in a Microsoft environment.
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration and support experience.
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory user and group management.
- Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Good understanding of the Microsoft End User Computing (EUC) stack.
- Experience supporting business applications, including troubleshooting and user support.
- Knowledge of application patching and server-based application maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd Line technical support to end users, resolving incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, including user management, licensing, and troubleshooting.
- Manage Active Directory user accounts, including joiners, movers, leavers, group permissions, and password resets.
- Support and administer Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktop environments.
- Deliver application support for both third-party and internally developed business applications.
- Deploy and patch applications on Windows servers, ensuring systems remain secure and up to date.
- Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
The IT Support Engineer is required onsite in Fareham, at least 4 days a week.
