An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing energy business based in Birmingham. This role is ideal for an ACA-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a collaborative finance team focused on monthly and annual financial reporting.
The Role
- Support the month-end close and reporting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls and compliance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Support monthly group reporting and controls processes.
- Assist with annual audits and prepare supporting documentation.
- Prepare statutory accounts for review.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Support VAT submissions and prepare information for external tax advisers.
- Support finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
About You
- Strong financial accounting and reporting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills - knowledge of power query/process automation would be useful.
- Analytical with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
