About the Role A leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) within the UK utilities sector is seeking a Senior Development and Partnerships Lead to drive regional growth across the North East by developing long-term relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.

This role will focus on identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and supporting the successful delivery of multi-utility infrastructure projects across residential developments.

Working closely with commercial, design, and operational teams, you will help strengthen the organisation's presence across the region while ensuring clients receive a seamless experience from initial engagement through to project delivery.

You will play a key role in developing trusted partnerships, identifying future opportunities, and supporting sustainable business growth within a fast-moving infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders across the North East.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across residential and infrastructure projects.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities through networking, referrals, and market engagement.
  • Work closely with design, commercial, and operational teams to develop tailored infrastructure solutions for clients.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, quotations, and commercial submissions.
  • Manage opportunities through the full client journey from initial enquiry to contract award.
  • Monitor regional market activity, competitor movements, and industry trends to identify future growth opportunities.
  • Represent the business at client meetings, networking events, and industry forums.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline information and client records using internal systems.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from commercial discussions to project delivery.

About You You are a confident relationship builder with experience working within the utilities, infrastructure, construction, or residential development sectors.

You enjoy developing long-term partnerships, identifying commercial opportunities, and working collaboratively with technical and operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.

You are organised, commercially aware, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities while building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure, construction, or a similar commercial environment.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to understand client requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

* Full UK driving licence. Desirable

  • Experience working with developers, contractors, housebuilders, or Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).
  • Understanding of electricity, gas, and clean water infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of DNO, IDNO, GIRS, or WIRS frameworks.
  • Experience working within residential infrastructure or utility connections.
