An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing energy business based in Birmingham. This role is ideal for an ACA-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a collaborative finance team focused on monthly and annual financial reporting.

The Role

  • Support the month-end close and reporting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls and compliance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Support monthly group reporting and controls processes.
  • Assist with annual audits and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for review.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Support VAT submissions and prepare information for external tax advisers.
  • Support finance process improvements and automation initiatives.

About You

  • ACA qualified.
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills - knowledge of power query/process automation would be useful.
  • Analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
