Overview
We are recruiting a hands-on Working Supervisor / Foreman for a stonemasonry and brickwork project in BA5 3LB. This role requires someone who can lead a small team, maintain high standards, and work on the tools when required. This is a 12-week assignment with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise stonemasons and bricklayers on site.
- Work hands-on, assisting with stonework, bricklaying and general masonry tasks.
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure work runs smoothly.
- Monitor quality and ensure works meet required specifications.
- Read drawings and communicate instructions clearly to the team.
- Enforce site rules, H&S requirements and safe working practices.
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors and other trades.
- Provide progress updates and highlight any issues early.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Supervisor, Working Foreman, or Chargehand in masonry or brickwork.
- Strong background in stonemasonry, bricklaying or general masonry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Must be willing to work on the tools as needed.
- Valid SSSTS certificate - essential.
- CSCS Card - Gold or Blue preferred.
- Full PPE and own tools.
- Able to start immediately.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Stonemasonry or Bricklaying.
- Experience on restoration / heritage projects.
- First Aid certificate.
- Own transport due to location.
