We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality steakhouse. This is a full-time role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the front, and can manage all aspects of the restaurant efficiently and professionally. The role requires a strong focus on operational excellence, guest experience, staff leadership, and commercial performance, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly and profitably at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall Management
- Take full ownership of the day-to-day operations of the restaurant
- Ensure the restaurant is run efficiently, safely, and to a consistently high standard
- Act as the main point of contact for staff, suppliers, and senior stakeholders
- Maintain a visible presence on the floor during service
- Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional guest service and ensure every customer has a memorable dining experience
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and effectively
- Uphold the restaurant's brand standards, atmosphere, and presentation at all times
- Ensure correct explanation and presentation of the hot stone dining experience to guests
- Team Leadership & Staffing
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage front-of-house and back-of-house staff
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to perform at their best
- Set clear expectations, manage performance, and deal with disciplinary matters when required
- Ensure staff are trained on menu knowledge, food safety, and service standards
- Financial & Commercial Control
- Manage labour costs, rotas, and staffing levels effectively
- Control stock levels, ordering, deliveries, and wastage
- Drive revenue through upselling, promotions, and service quality
- Cash handling, end-of-day reporting, and basic financial accountability
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all UK health & safety regulations
- Maintain food safety standards (HACCP) and cleanliness throughout the restaurant
- Ensure correct use, safety, and maintenance of hot stones and kitchen equipment
- Oversee opening and closing procedures and security
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or strong Assistant Manager ready to step up
- Experience working in a steakhouse or quality casual dining environment preferred
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Confident managing busy services and high customer volumes
- Good understanding of stock control, labour management, and cost control
- Passion for hospitality, food, and customer service
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
