We are seeking experienced Groundworkers to join a major water treatment upgrade project. The works involve groundworks, pipework, ductings etc. This is a live Thames Water site, requiring strict adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundworks including excavation, trenching, and reinstatement.
- Install and connect pipework systems around sludge tanks to specification.
- Prepare and pour concrete slabs and bases for tanks and associated structures.
- Assist with fabrication and installation of handrails on tanks and walkways.
- Operate small plant and tools safely (e.g., breakers, mixers, compactors).
- Read and interpret technical drawings and site plans.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Essential Requirements
- Valid CSCS card (essential).
- Thames Water Passport (preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Proven experience in groundworks, pipework installation, and concreting.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Relevant plant tickets (e.g., CPCS/NPORS for Excavator, Dumper, Roller).
- Confined Space Training (advantageous).
- First Aid, Manual Handling, and Safety Awareness certifications desirable.
- Own transport to site.
Desirable Skills
- Experience on water treatment or utility sites.
- Knowledge of sludge treatment processes.
- Welding or fabrication experience for handrail installation.
