The Role:
We are looking for a Commercial Manager (Contracts) to provide commercial and contractual support across the business. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll provide clear commercial guidance, support contract delivery, and help manage contractual risk throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Review tender and contract documentation, identifying risks and preparing clarifications/exceptions.
- Negotiate client and supplier terms to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
- Review purchase orders and contract changes to ensure alignment with agreed terms.
- Draft and manage NDAs and support accurate contract filing and record keeping.
- Monitor contracts for opportunities (e.g., extensions, renewals, variations, rate escalations).
- Support due diligence on customers and suppliers and provide early input on disputes where needed.
- Produce clear, timely documentation and updates for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Work cross-functionally to manage contract actions and promote consistent processes and continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience providing commercial/contractual support across the contract lifecycle (tender to close-out).
- Strong contract review and negotiation capability (client and supplier terms).
- Confident stakeholder management and ability to influence risk-based decisions across technical and non-technical teams.
- High attention to detail with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation and reports.
- Desirable, but not essential: Experience in engineering, subsea, oil & gas, rail, or similarly regulated/technical sectors.
- Knowledge of contract risk management and due diligence approaches for customers and suppliers.
What’s in it for you?
- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (with the option to buy or sell 5 additional days)
- Life assurance
- Attractive contributory pension scheme
- Cycle to work scheme/volunteering scheme/electric car scheme available
- Hybrid & flexible working arrangements: We offer a balanced hybrid working model, with three days based in the office and two days working remotely. Our flexible working hours include core hours from 10am to 3pm, allowing employees to structure their start and finish times.
- Profit-related bonus to celebrate the company’s successes
