RELIEF SECURITY OPERATIVE

VIP Security (Essex) Ltd is seeking a professional and reliable Relief Security Operative to cover shifts across a variety of sites throughout Essex. This dynamic role includes assignments such as door supervision, event security, and providing holiday and sickness cover on static sites. The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA licence and be flexible in working days, evenings, or nights as required. Weekend availability is essential , and candidates must be adaptable, well-presented, and committed to maintaining high standards of security and service.

WHAT\’S IN IT FOR YOU

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cover shifts at various sites across Essex, including static locations, events, and licensed premises
  • Perform duties such as access control, patrolling, crowd management, and incident response
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice, ensuring consistent site security
  • Act as a visible deterrent to anti-social or criminal behaviour
  • Carry out door supervision duties in licensed venues, ensuring safety and compliance
  • Accurately complete daily occurrence logs and incident reports
  • Communicate effectively with clients, site staff, and the control room
  • Remain professional, alert, and presentable at all times
  • Comply with all site-specific procedures and health & safety requirements
  • Adapt quickly to different environments and site expectations

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of legal guidelines for security and public safety
  • Active SIA Licence
  • ACT Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work on own initiative.
