Ascend Airways is seeking a dedicated Cabin Crew Manager to be the central pillar of support, strategy, and development for our cabin team. Your Mission: To Empower Our Cabin Crew! You will be the vital link between our cabin crew and the wider leadership team. Your focus will be on nurturing a professional, compliant, and highly motivated team through thoughtful leadership and meticulous operational oversight. You’ll balance the strategic with the personal, ensuring every crew member feels valued, heard, and set up for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day leadership, supervision, and resolution for all cabin crew management elements, including welfare, engagement, promotion, and performance.
- Acting as a trusted point of contact, offering motivation, care, and clear communication to all cabin crew personnel.
- Collaborating closely with the HR department to shape people strategy, ensuring it reflects the latest employment regulations and best practices.
- Partnering with the CEO, NPFO, and Head of Cabin Services to forecast cabin crew resource needs and set precise recruitment and promotion targets.
- Leading the cabin crew recruitment process in tandem with the Head of Cabin Services and HR to meet resourcing goals, continuously refining the approach to attract top talent.
- Managing all aspects of cabin crew employment terms—from contracts and scheduling to pay and leave—in consultation with key department heads.
- Ensuring strict compliance with CAA Working Time Regulations in all leave and scheduling oversight.
- Maintaining impeccable administrative records and ensuring all cabin crew documentation adheres to current policies.
- Championing and overseeing the Cabin Crew Peer Support Program (PSP) and managing the psychoactive substance testing program in coordination with the Head of Flight Crew.
Qualifications
- Proven, hands-on experience in cabin crew management within an aviation environment.
- A background in a Senior Cabin Crew role, giving an authentic, grounded understanding of the pressures and requirements of the job.
- Direct experience in handling performance management, disciplinary processes, and sensitive welfare matters with tact and fairness.
- A flexible, hands-on approach, including a willingness to travel to overseas operational bases as required.
- Exceptional organisational skills and a natural ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
