Vintage Cash Cow is a unique concept designed to help customers sell their old stuff in the most convenient and speedy way.

Here at the main hub, the hustle and bustle of a warehouse is combined with the vibrancy and excitement of hundreds of experts working together to value and process our wonderful customers' items.

You will work in collaboration with multiple departments, handling stock and sending it from valuation to the hammer fall at auction.

Working days: Monday to Friday.

Contracted hours: 37.5 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid break each day.

About the Role

As a Jewellery Product Assessor, you’ll play a key role in assessing, sorting, and preparing fine jewellery and precious metals for auction and sale.

The role is ideal for someone with retail jewellery experience (e. g., Pandora, high-street jewellers), bench jewellers, or with expertise in fine jewellery and auction processes.

  • Confidently identify and test gold, fine jewellery, and other metals’ purity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and catalogue high-value jewellery, identifying fine, antique, and collectible pieces accurately.
  • Sort and break down jewellery into solid gold scrap, removing gemstones and non-gold components.
  • Identify metal purity and distinguish carats using visual inspection and XRF testing (training provided).
  • Prepare and weigh solid gold for secure storage, adhering strictly to security protocols.
  • Create curated lots of fine jewellery to meet KPIs, producing detailed descriptions using internal tools.
  • Record weights, figures, and stock information meticulously.
  • Quality-check items for accuracy and compliance with all security standards.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Previous experience in retail jewellery settings (e. g., high-street jewellers), bench jewellers, or involvement in fine jewellery and auction processes.
  • Familiarity with vintage, antique, and fine jewellery, including hallmarks, carats, and metal purity.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to handle valuable items with precision and care.
  • Comfortable working with figures, weights, and Excel-based tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with vintage and antique jewellery is desirable.
  • Experience with security protocols for high-value stock is a plus.
