About the team: At VCC, our Marketplace Assistant team plays a crucial role in keeping the operation moving safely, independently and efficiently. We support multiple departments by ensuring stock, equipment and work areas are maintained to a high standard. Helping the wider Marketplace run smoothly will mean this is a hands-on team that takes pride in quality, housekeeping, and communication while working within a fast-paced environment.
About the role: As a Marketplace Assistant, you will be supporting the multiple departments on a daily basis with various tasks including maintaining a high standard across stock movement and quality, housekeeping and day-to-day problem solving. This role is ‘ad hoc’ by nature - meaning priorities can change quickly, so you’ll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable working across different areas while maintaining consistency. This role may also require occasional work at our main site in Overland Park, located in Gildersome, Morley.

Key Responsibilities
- Housekeeping and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) across working areas.
- Keeping walkways, aisles and fire routes clear, making sure to maintain and tidy areas.
- Moving stock safely and accurately to the correct locations, documenting where applicable.
- Following proper PPE requirements and safe working practices at all times.
- Support inbound and outbound activity through checks and safe handling.
- Completing shift handovers and all communication clearly.
- Escalate hazards immediately.
- Communicating clearly with team members and department leads when priorities change.

- Maintaining a safe work environment through strong housekeeping and hazard awareness.
- Supporting consistent stock flow across the Marketplace departments efficiently, safely and accurately.
- Maintaining a reliable and professional service for our colleagues and customers, especially during busy periods.
- Preventing damage, loss, misplacement and unsafe handling.
- Represent VCC values through professional teamwork and conduct.

Essential skills and experience:
