Responsible for working closely with the Business Development team to implement marketing and business development initiatives for the international offices, including a mix of corporate and litigation practice areas.

Will also actively participate in firm-wide marketing activities and be proactive in executing projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary
  • Works with the Business Development Directors and Managers, Directors of Practice Group Management and Marketing Services, PR and Events team members to support a variety of marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinates firm-produced client-facing events, including CLEs, directly involving the lawyers in coordinating with the Events Department, and other Business Development and Marketing Services team members.
  • Assists and leads development of assigned content for client pitches, proposals and formal RFPs.
  • Conducts research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition via firm-wide resources, online databases and library searches.
  • Stays abreast of best practices and market and industry trends; provides competitor research to assist the Business Development team in making strategic recommendations to the practice group leaders.
  • Updates and maintains practice area content (rankings, matter descriptions, additions to practice overview materials, etc.) and facilitates the distribution of daily alerts for practice areas.
  • Coordinates external event sponsorships and assists in executing agreements/logistics.
  • Creates, revises and maintains attorney biographies according to practice area.
  • Drafts correspondence; secures and distributes e-communications directed to external audiences, as well as internal e-communications firm-wide.

  • Minimum Qualification

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience

  • At least four years’ experience in business or marketing in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Special Knowledge
  • Superior analytical and research skills required. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and proofreading ability.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong technical proficiencies, particularly in the use of CRM/contact databases, Excel, Power Point and on‑line research databases.
  • Attributes
  • Must be proactive, detail-oriented, professional, self-directed and capable of executing/managing projects under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capable of working effectively with attorneys as well as professionals in all administrative departments.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
  • Long hours are required periodically.
