Your Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed support within a safe and welcoming accommodation environment. Working closely with Case Workers and the wider team, you will assist residents with their daily needs while supporting the effective operation of the service. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting people through challenging circumstances and who thrives in a client-centred environment.

Your Responsibility

  • Provide practical support, advocacy and guidance in line with individual client case plans.
  • Assist with client admissions, assessments, orientation and transition into the service.
  • Support the delivery of daily activities, group programs and client wellbeing initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for all residents.
  • Prepare rooms and assist with general housekeeping, laundry and accommodation upkeep.
  • Conduct routine room and property inspections and maintain service standards.
  • Complete accurate and timely client records, reports and documentation.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, risks and emergencies in line with organisational procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with community organisations, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture focused on achieving positive outcomes for clients.
  • Participate in a rotating roster, including day, afternoon and sleepover shifts.

You Will Need

  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster of weekdays between 7am and 7pm.
  • A Certificate qualification, relevant industry experience, or current tertiary studies in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services or a related field.
  • Experience working within homelessness, housing, community services, residential care or similar settings (highly regarded).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A compassionate, non-judgemental and trauma-informed approach.
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
