We are seeking a specialised IT Business Analyst with domain experience in the Broadcast Media sector. This is a contract role focused on the lifecycle of our core scheduling and rights management software.

You will act as the link between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that our Scheduling, Traffic, and Rights systems are optimised to meet the demands of a fast-paced media environment.

The Role

This is a functional Business Analyst role. You will serve as the primary contact for business users regarding our vendor-supplied software solutions, managing the flow of data across Rights, Programming, Traffic, Presentation, and Reconciliation. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, supporting software releases, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with SOX processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Broadcast Systems Management: Lead the functional requirements and business solutions for key broadcast domains, specifically: Rights Management, Programme Scheduling, Commercial Traffic, and Presentation.
  • Vendor & Release Coordination: Work with 3rd party software vendors, including facilitating design workshops, reviewing test plans, and coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) for new software releases.
  • Requirements Engineering: Create and prioritise product concepts and business requirements, translating operational needs into technical specifications for development teams and vendors.
  • Operational Support: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for internal customers (Operations, Programming, Development), troubleshooting system issues and delivering training on how to use scheduling software efficiently.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Assist with software release cycles, managing lifecycle documentation and ensuring full compliance with SOX requirements.

Required Experience

  • Industry Background: Essential experience supporting technology solutions within a Broadcast or Media organisation. Understand the terminology and workflows of linear/non-linear scheduling.
  • Functional Knowledge: Proven experience with systems relating to Rights, Traffic, and Programming.
  • BA Toolkit: Minimum of 3 years’ experience on mid-to-large scale software development projects, with a strong ability to prioritise enhancement requests and manage change.
  • Technical Compliance: Experience managing SOX processes and lifecycle documentation is highly desirable.
