Reporting to the partners, this role is to lead in the management and coordination of all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and financial performance, and ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment. The Practice Manager is the lead in managing governance and is the focal point for external organisations and inspections, including the regulator.
Through innovative ways of working, lead the team in promoting ED&I, SHEF, quality and continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development and ensure the practice complies with UK legislation and both NHS and CQC regulations. As this role will have access to a higher level of confidential data in the course of their employment, there is an expectation that the post holder will always maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Sensitive information could be from either internal sources, or from external partner organisations. The post-holder is an instrumental member of the general practice team.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for a well organised, and delivery focused Practice Manager to take ownership of our multidisciplinary team at Vine House Health Centre. This position is a senior, hands on leadership role. You'll be responsible for performance, productivity, workforce strategy, and the development of our people. Your work will help ensure our non-clinical team is effective, efficient, and truly making a difference for patients. You'll lead a diverse team including Partners, Salaried GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, the Nursing team, and other AHPs within our practice. Your role is to create clarity, pace, and accountability - turning strategy into action and challenges into practical solutions. You'll operate at speed, spotting issues early, and finding solutions.
You won't be working in isolation. You'll work closely with our GP Partners, clinicians and AHP Leads, alongside a strong management, administrative, and reception team. Together, they provide the professional, clinical, and operational expertise needed to keep services running smoothly and safely, while you bring the structure, coordination, and follow-through that turns plans into delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading and developing a multidisciplinary AHP workforce, setting clear expectations and driving high standards of performance.
- Owning operational delivery ensuring patient demand, workforce capacity, and access are aligned through proactive planning.
- Using data, dashboards, and KPIs to track productivity, quality, and flow - acting quickly when performance dips.
- Spotting bottlenecks across access, utilisation, documentation, or follow up and fixing them without hesitation.
- Managing budgets and resources responsibly, ensuring maximum patient value from every session delivered.
- Recruiting, onboarding, and embedding new AHPs so they are confident, effective, and safe from day one.
- Coaching and performance managing team members with pace, fairness, and clarity - addressing issues early and constructively.
- Building a culture of accountability, ownership, and delivery - where standards are clear and excuses don’t linger.
- Working closely with clinical leaders to ensure safe practice, clear role boundaries, and integrated workflows.
