The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
This is a fixed-term contract running until the end of April, with the possibility of extension. You will be competent in delivering accurate and reliable camera and object tracking that form the foundation of every shot. Working closely with the wider pipeline, you’ll ensure that live-action plates and CG elements align seamlessly, enabling high-quality integration across departments. This role requires a strong technical eye, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of both 3D space and real-world camera behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Create precise camera and object tracks that accurately match plate photography.
- Reconstruct scene geometry to support tracking and downstream departments.
- Oversee and support prep for external matchmove.
- Validate and refine tracking data within a 3D environment to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Produce wireframe renders for review, ensuring tracks hold up in comp.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as Layout, Animation, and Compositing.
- Respond to feedback from Leads and Supervisors, maintaining quality and continuity across shots.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Matchmove or Tracking role within VFX.
- Strong working knowledge of Maya, 3DEqualizer, Nuke, and Linux-based workflows.
- Solid understanding of camera principles, lens distortion, and photographic fundamentals.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines in a production environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
