We are seeking a Reactive Maintenance Electrician to provide reactive and planned electrical maintenance across RAF Brize Norton. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of a wide range of facilities across the airbase. You will work across diverse environments including hangars, aircraft maintenance workshops, office blocks, accommodation, control rooms, storage facilities, canteens, and perimeter/utility buildings. Your work ensures that all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently in a high-security, operationally active environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance across base facilities.
- Fault‑finding, testing, inspection, and repair of a wide range of electrical systems.
- Perform emergency lighting testing and remedial works.
- Inspect and repair distribution boards, sockets, switches, and lighting systems.
- Conduct PAT testing and small installation works.
- Undertake minor rewiring and general electrical compliance tasks.
- Source materials/parts to complete repairs and remedial jobs.
- Support with minor mechanical, plumbing, and fabric repairs as part of a multi‑skilled FM team (accounts for 20% of work).
- Accurately complete job sheets, compliance documentation, and CAFM updates in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Fully qualified Electrician – ECS Gold Card (essential); NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition.
- Proven experience in commercial or facilities maintenance environments (FM background preferred).
- Strong fault‑finding, testing, and reactive repair capability.
- Comfortable working in a secure, operational environment around aircraft, workshops, and public/office spaces.
- Good understanding of compliance processes and accurate maintenance paperwork.
- Full UK Driver's Licence (maximum 6 points, no drink driving offences).
