A Principal Mechanical Engineer is required to continue the development of tools to support early retrievals/operations of the MSSS SEP machines. This role requires an innovative individual with experience within this field. This role will involve managing a small team of designers/engineers to understand the requirements, further specify requirements and to continue the development of bespoke tools, through concepts, trials and manufacture into fully deployable solutions. In addition, the Principal Engineer will act as the single point of contact from initial request through to handover of a fully functional tool to MSSS plant operation teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Understand the roles and specifications of CDM
  • Experience producing design packages, suitable for manufacture and installation, containing drawings, method statements, risk assessments
  • Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL practices, standards and engineering guides
  • HNC/HND/Scientific or Engineering Degree
  • Highly desirable: experience of working in decommissioning legacy facilities, materials and contaminated hazards
