Role Overview
The position of Project Manager (Substations) will be responsible for delivering substations for GGP Projects across England. The post holder will report directly to the relevant Business Unit General Manager. The focus will be on:
- Safe and efficient delivery of projects to high construction standards, within budget and on schedule.
- Ensuring the commercial success and profitability of each project.
- Managing and overseeing staff on-site and support roles for optimal project delivery.
- Maintaining project cost control and maximizing productivity.
- Effective internal and external communication to foster trust and future business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver assigned projects successfully.
- Create and update civil and electrical programmes as per client requirements.
- Complete electrical bills of quantities and secure purchase orders before site mobilization.
- Ensure timely sales handovers before project start.
- Raise purchase orders, challenge terms for value, and coordinate with QS department.
- Support health & safety initiatives and promote a safety culture.
- Manage transition phases to ensure safety and cost efficiency.
- Monitor financial data related to electrical quantities and claims.
- Ensure best practices in site administration and prompt payment processes.
- Encourage best practices for resource utilization.
- Compile electrical information for safety documentation.
- Challenge and improve processes and systems.
- Foster ownership and commercial awareness among staff.
- Assist in updating work programmes and resource schedules.
- Manage resources in Ireland in collaboration with designated colleagues.

- Conduct investigations and disciplinary processes when necessary.
