The candidate will lead the CE&I electrical systems design for projects in the FEED pipeline. The role involves producing and checking engineering deliverables to support design development through concept and preliminary phases, and potentially into detail design, with assistance during installation and commissioning for design queries. The candidate will provide technical support to all aspects of CE&I engineering. The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery with experience of optioneering, front-end design and detail design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and take responsibility for the delivery of the design aspects of the project.
  • Work with a small integrated design team to deliver design packages against milestones.
  • Contribute to the production of multi-discipline design documentation such as, but not limited to: Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, Design Justification Report.
  • Determine project requirements independently.
  • Produce and review/check CE&I design deliverables from other CE&I engineers/designers.
  • Estimate hours for scope changes or additional works and outline a supporting schedule for the discipline.
  • Support and contribute to the delivery of Design Reviews.
  • Produce reports and documentation to comply with CDM requirements.
  • Interface with Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), and other project functions; work closely throughout project phases.
  • Demonstrate significant, demonstrable experience in CE&I Project Delivery and experience delivering CE&I design packages—translating user requirements and technical specifications into fully engineered, safe and compliant design solutions.
  • Experience with space management, panel layouts, cable routing, cable management and cable calculations.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated delivery team and individually, even under time constraints.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities to interact with people at all levels.
  • Process Instrumentation Design; Electrical Power and Services Design at LV; Knowledge of CE&I Safety Systems; Programmable Electronic Systems; Radiometric Instrumentation.
  • Understand and apply the required deliverables and design processes for each CE&I area, particularly in front-end scoping and early delivery strategy.
  • Delivery within the SL Management System; estimate and schedule production and progress reporting.
  • Must have significant demonstrable experience in CE&I project delivery and working within timescales.

Minimum: ONC; Preferred: Engineering degree (BEng/MEng) or equivalent.

Desirable Experience: Management of design delivery teams; Machinery Safety and UKCA Marking.

Professional Registration: IEng or CEng.
