VINCI Facilities is seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Engineering Manager to support the delivery of engineering excellence at Princess Royal University Hospital. This is a key technical leadership role focused on supporting Facilities Management (FM) leads in reviewing engineering designs, specifications, and lifecycle replacement programmes across a complex healthcare estate. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring technical compliance, value for money, risk mitigation, and operational suitability of lifecycle works while maintaining the highest standards expected within a critical hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering leadership across lifecycle replacement projects
  • Support FM Leads with the review and approval of technical designs, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Ensure lifecycle projects meet statutory compliance, HTM standards, and healthcare engineering best practice
  • Review contractor proposals and technical submissions to ensure quality and suitability
  • Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies
  • Support budget planning by ensuring lifecycle scopes are technically accurate and appropriately specified
  • Work collaboratively with site engineering teams, project managers, and supply chain partners
  • Ensure minimal operational disruption during lifecycle project delivery
  • Provide technical assurance and governance across engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and building fabric)
  • Support continuous improvement of asset management and lifecycle planning processes

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • Significant experience in Facilities Management or healthcare engineering environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems and building infrastructure
  • Experience reviewing technical designs and project scopes
  • Understanding of statutory compliance and engineering standards within critical environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to challenge technical proposals constructively
  • Experience managing technical risk

Desirable

  • Experience working within PFI/PPP healthcare contracts
  • Knowledge of NHS HTM and HBN guidance
  • Professional registration (CEng, IEng, or working towards)
  • Experience in lifecycle asset replacement programmes
