Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries of materials, components, and equipment for engineering and control projects.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using digital systems, ensuring effective tracking, labelling, and stock rotation.
- Pick, pack, and prepare goods for projects and customer despatch, ensuring orders are completed correctly and on time.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and suppliers to support the timely flow of materials and help coordinate urgent requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors of shortages or replenishment needs to keep projects running smoothly.
- Conduct regular stores audits and assist with annual and periodic stocktakes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised stores environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Assist with goods returns, warranty claims, and general stores administration duties as required.
The Person β Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or materials handling role (engineering or automation sector experience advantageous but not essential).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in using stock management systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Physically able to safely lift and move stock (manual handling training provided).
- Current UK driving licence.
